Handmade book from handmade paper, with 3 cover colours options shown. Approx: 26cm x 23cm x 1cm Price £8.25 This product is made of 100% Paper (Mulberry Paper) and produced with out the use of chemicals. The Asian Mulberry tree, the same that supplies the leaves that feed Silkworms, is a fast growing tree, est 2 metres per year, that will annually be cut down above the roots and the bark peeled off. This bark is then cooked repeatedly and, where necessary, bleached with oxygen and turned into pulp. The pulp is dyed or left natural, and repeatedly caught in frames until the required thickness is achieved , then left out in the sun to dry. The end product is a Paper sheet which can be used itself or turned into Paper Products. This technique, along with Papyrus is probably the oldest manufacturer of paper and has been common in Asia 2000 years.
